JAEFF 2020: Bodies has been postponed until 2021
It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the postponement of JAEFF 2020: Bodies. After months of isolated deliberation, we have come to the conclusion that hosting JAEFF in 2020 is not feasible given our limited resources and remaining uncertainties surrounding public gatherings in cinema spaces.
We have spent the last few weeks in conversation with our partners, distributors, venues and filmmakers in order to assess the viability of the festival as well as to begin solid contingency planning for postponement until 2021. Knowing the capabilities of our amazingly talented staff and volunteers, we are certain that this extra time will allow JAEFF to return stronger than ever with JAEFF 2021: Bodies.
Thank you to everyone who has kept JAEFF going during these last three years, you truly mean the world to us.
Stay safe out there, everybody. We will continue to bring you bi-weekly film recommendations on Instagram, and will now be expanding that to cover our audience on Facebook. Just because we cannot meet in person, it does not mean that we cannot all enjoy some thought-provoking, formally-daring, and transgressive cinema.
